NaNoWrimo Kick Off Party 2006

Today, All Saints Day, November the first, is the first day of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).

I’m participating. Are you? Want to be writing buddies?

Turn off that inner critic and give it a whirl.

As a friend of mine used to say, “What fresh  hell is this?”

I completed NaNo in 2010 ( I have the tee shirt to prove it). Tried again in 2011 but didn’t get very far. Persistence, daily persistence is the key, at least for me. As an experienced procrastinator, any excuse for not banging out something every day will snuff out any novel-writing for the month of November and probably beyond.

But I shall do it. I’m always awash with good intentions.

Suit up and show up writers. Let’s do this thing.

  1. What fresh hell indeed. My inner critic doesn’t have an Off button. It’s on, on, on all the time. Guess I’ll have to send her to a retreat for the month of November so I can write in peace.

I like your blog. You’re making a great start.

  2. We’ve got to show those inner critics who’s boss. Have them kidnapped for a month?
Held at an undisclosed fortress? Reduced to the size of a microbe?

  3. Laura

There’s something about NANO that forces me to focus more and make it a priority. I think I need to have some sort of challenge every month! And my inner critic is a grumpy gal. She’s always got something to say.

  4. Pressure works with me. I don’t like it, but it works. Those inner critics are just the pits, aren’t they?

  5. Mine might back off if I ply her with chocolate.
